Parent Volunteers Needed
We are in need of parent volunteers to promote and help collect submissions, one in each classroom or grade. As well as 6-8 parent volunteers to judge depending on the number of submissions we get. If you are interested in being a parent volunteer, please contact
Christina Pierce at reflections.woodmoor@gmail.com.

Now, more than ever, kids need art in their lives as a way to connect, explore, calm, innovate and rejuvenate. It is our goal to get kids involved, as much as possible.  Yes, it is a "contest", but more importantly, it is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our identities and to be creative.

I think we can all agree that the arts are important, every day!  But, now more than ever.

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition that’s so much more than "just an art contest."

It helps kids:
  • Take risks
  • Be inspired
  • Think creatively
  • Receive positive recognition
  • Be celebrated for their works of art

It also allows our community to celebrate our students' creativity!

Entries are judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme. Students will create their work of art AND write a short artist statement.  Judging is based on both the artwork and artist statement. All state submissions will be virtual using the new submission system. Information will be available about the new submission system later this fall.

Those students' works of art will be celebrated at a district open house in early 2022.  Council will judge the pieces in each category and some pieces will continue onto State PTA and National PTA for further judging.  Regardless of where a student places, our PTSA will celebrate any student artist who submits a piece of art for Reflections.

Submissions need to be turned in to the main office PTSA box, to their teacher, or digitally to reflections.woodmoor@gmail.com no later than Nov 12th.
Entries must be received no later than midnight on November 12th, 2021.
